This apartment is named after the Venetian noblewoman Bianca Cappello, who became Grand Duchess of Tuscany in 1574 and wife to Francesco de’ Medici. It is a 33-square meter apartment situated on the ground floor and divided into a bottom floor and an upper wooden mezzanine floor. The mezzanine holds one king-sized bed (or two single beds upon request) and a walk-in closet, all under a beautifully arched ceiling, and its walls are decorated with authentic 14th century frescoes. The ground floor offers a fully-equipped kitchen, a comfortable and easy-to-use double sofa bed and a bathroom with shower and small window. Large arched windows in the main room reach from the floor to the ceiling and allow in abundant light, making the apartment a wonderful and cozy place to call home. This apartment is ideal for couples or two co-travelers, but also for families with two to three children.
Originally, in the fourteenth century, this space was the entrance foyer of this typical medieval townhouse and was more recently, up until 2000, a local ironsmith’s workshop.
